Bay Park (Reverse)

On the driving test, the examiner may ask you to carry out a reverse into a parking bay.  The examiner will let you decide which bay to use.  Decide as early as you can which bay to use.

Once you have decided which bay to use, drive passed the bay and stop safely.  Prepare your car to reverse and make all round observations before moving off.

Bay park reverse, starting point

Reverse until you reach your reference point, your driver's door mirror will be level with the third line from the bay that you want to finish in.  The front of your car will swing out as you steer, check your blind spot before you reach your reference point.

Turn your steering wheel full lock to the right, keeping all round observations (this means keeping a look out for anyone or anything approaching from behind, from the front or at the sides of your car) some car parks can be quite busy so be careful.

Bay park reverse, steer into the bay

As your car starts to turn into the bay, keep checking forward for other road users or pedestrians also to check when your car is straight.  Once straight turn the steering one and a half turns to the left.
